Haithabu Viking Shoes, Reversible Shoes

These low shoes are very authentic reconstructions based on finds from the Viking town of Haithabu (near Schleswig). They are dated to around 900-1150. It is a high cut with laces around the foot both above and below the ankle.

The shoes have a raised heel sole, which was common in northern European shoes in the early Middle Ages.

Please note, however: the robustness of these reversible shoes may not meet modern requirements! They are quite sensitive to asphalt, concrete blocks and gravel. These floor coverings did not exist in the Middle Ages! We therefore recommend wearing shoes and, if necessary, insoles.
