This solid reconstruction of a shoe with a strap and a historic brass buckle is made of cowhide.



The reconstruction is based on archaeological finds from Schleswig and Konstanz and can be classified between 1200 and 1500 AD.



The women's shoe has a cut similar to that of a ballerina and is fastened with a historic brass buckle. The sole is made of extra-thick smooth leather.

Hard leather is quite stiff at first and needs to be worn in first.

The heel is reinforced with an extra layer of leather.

The fit is normal.

- Material: vegetable tanned cowhide

- Thickness: approx. 2 mm

Please note:

The sturdiness of shoes based on historical patterns may not meet modern requirements! They are quite sensitive to asphalt, concrete blocks and gravel. These floor coverings did not exist in the Middle Ages! We therefore recommend that you use rubber soles from your chosen shoemaker if you walk a lot on hard surfaces. We would also like to point out that leather is a natural product and that variations in colour and/or grain are quite common. Therefore, no two pairs of these leather shoes are the same and the images above are for exemplary purposes only.
