Treat yourself to Lace-Up Shoes, Dark Brown, Mid-Height, Side Laces
Medieval lace-up shoes, dark brown
This very solid reconstruction of medieval shoes is made of cowhide.
These shoes were common in Europe between approximately 1250 and 1500.
The shoe reaches the ankle and is closed on the side with two laces. The heel is reinforced on the inside with an additional layer of leather. The sole is made of extra-thick, smooth leather.
The leather is a little stiff at first and needs to be broken in.
The fit is normal.
Details:
- Material: Vegetable tanned cowhide
- Thickness: approx. 2 mm
- Smooth leather sole: approx. 7 mm thick.
- Color: dark brown
- Standard sizes available: 39 to 47

Please note:
The robustness of shoes based on historical patterns may not meet modern requirements! They are quite sensitive to asphalt, concrete blocks, and gravel. These floor coverings did not exist in the Middle Ages! Therefore, we recommend using rubber soles from your chosen shoemaker if you walk a lot on hard surfaces. We would also like to point out that leather is a natural product, and variations in color and/or grain are quite common. Therefore, no two pairs of these leather shoes are alike, and the images above are for illustrative purposes only.
