Medieval lace-up shoes, dark brown


This very solid reconstruction of medieval shoes is made of cowhide.
These shoes were common in Europe between approximately 1250 and 1500.


The shoe reaches up to the ankle and is fastened on the sides with two laces. The heel is reinforced on the inside with an additional layer of leather. The sole is made of extra-thick smooth leather.
The leather is a little stiff at first and needs to be broken in.


The fit is normal.

- Material: vegetable tanned cowhide

The sturdiness of shoes based on historical patterns may not meet modern requirements! They are quite sensitive to asphalt, concrete blocks and gravel. These floor coverings did not exist in the Middle Ages! We therefore recommend that you use rubber soles from your chosen shoemaker if you walk a lot on hard surfaces.
