Kuhmaul shoes
The cowmaul shoe, also known as the ochsenmaul , is a form of shoe worn by both men and women from the early 16th century and developed during this period, by which time it almost became part of the traditional dress of the landsknecht . The shape of the shoe is characterized by a flat body and a wide toe box, similar to the slit dress of the landsknecht. It is decorated with elliptical recesses. A strap with a buckle across the instep serves as its fastener. The sole was fastened using the stable nailing method.
Attention:
The sturdiness of shoes based on historical patterns may not meet modern requirements! They are quite sensitive to asphalt, concrete blocks, and gravel. These floor coverings didn't exist in the Middle Ages! Therefore, we recommend using boots, insoles if necessary, or fitting them with rubber soles from a shoemaker of your choice.
Details:

- Leather sole: approx. 6 mm
