Viking Skjöld Shoe, Brown

Viking half-boot from the period 800 - 1100 AD, the shape corresponds to a find from Haithabu. The triangular shape is characteristic of this type of shoe. The sole rises up to the heel. The shaft extends well above the ankle, the shoes are closed with four leather levers. The entire shoe is made of vegetable tanned natural cowhide, the sole is nailed all around and is extremely stable.

Attention:
The sturdiness of shoes based on historical patterns may not be up to modern requirements! They are quite sensitive to asphalt, concrete blocks and gravel. These floor coverings did not exist in the Middle Ages! We therefore recommend wearing boots, insoles if necessary or equipping them with rubber soles from the shoemaker of your choice.
