Speyside is the region along the River Spey in Scotland. Around 50 distilleries here produce whiskies with very special characteristics. They are smooth, round and fine and rarely slightly peaty. Speyside is home to world-famous distilleries such as Aberlour, Glenlivet, Glenfiddich, Glen Grant and Macallan. Whisky cask no. 169, filled in 2009, comes from one of these distilleries, where the whisky had to mature for 13 years until we selected it to bottle the second high-quality whisky for our exclusive Einherjer Edition filling.

Whisky is a beer that originates from distillation, so it is no surprise that many brewers are also passionate about the distilled juice of barley. In the Einherjer Edition, the brewers of the Wacken Brewery have put together an excellent selection of premium single malts bottled exclusively for the Wacken Brewery.



This Speyside single malt is deliberately not chill-filtered. To avoid excessive haze, it was reduced to 46% vol. the alcohol was then discontinued. The whisky therefore has a particularly intense flavour.

Tasting impressions:



- Smell:

Floral and red fruit notes, accompanied by vanilla and light caramel

- Flavor:

Very harmonious, fine, balanced body, vanilla and red fruits continue, chocolate is added.

- Final:

Long aftertaste with notes of chocolate and red fruits accompanied by a slight spiciness
