Speyside is the region along the River Spey in Scotland. Around 50 distilleries here produce whiskies with very special characteristics. They are smooth, round, and fine, and rarely slightly peaty. Speyside is home to world-famous distilleries such as Aberlour, Glenlivet, Glenfiddich, Glen Grant, and Macallan. Whisky cask no. 169, filled in 2009, comes from one of these distilleries, where the whisky had to mature for 13 years until we selected it to bottle the second high-quality whisky for our exclusive Einherjer Edition filling.

Whiskey is a beer with its origins in distillation, so it's no surprise that many brewers are also passionate about distilled barley juice. In the Einherjer Edition, the brewers at the Wacken Brewery have put together an excellent selection of premium single malts bottled exclusively for the Wacken Brewery.

This Speyside single malt is deliberately not chill-filtered. To avoid excessive cloudiness, it was reduced to 46% vol. The alcohol was removed. This gives the whisky a particularly intense flavor.
