The Vegvísir is and was a popular symbol among the Vikings. It represents a kind of compass, with which the user can always orient himself, even on the stormiest of days.

the wacken brewery has used this guide and modified it slightly to classify their beers according to this guide. flavour the four directions of the brewer are: ales (top fermented), lagers (bottom fermented), hoppy (hoppy), malty (maltose). the above beer creations are grouped around this classification, so you can orient yourself even with a small list.
