Vikingernes mjød from dansk mjød is a traditional mead drunk by the Vikings. The addition of hops and other spices gives it an aromatic and spicy flavour reminiscent of white port wine.

Enjoy it as a chilled aperitif, as a dessert wine or warmed as “gløgg”, a Danish mulled wine.



To make honey wines, dansk mjød relies on old, traditional recipes with the addition of juices and herbs. Another special feature of many Danish meads is that fermentation is stopped by adding alcohol. This gives the honey wine an unusual strength, which is kept in check by the remaining residual sweetness and achieves a liqueur-like smoothness and balance.
