Viking Gugel Skjoldehamn – Various Colors
An authentic piece to recreate the spirit of the medieval north.
The Skjoldehamn Viking Gugel is inspired by a 10th-12th century archaeological find discovered in 1936 at the Skjoldehamn farm in Norway. Although the sex of the body found is unknown, its clothing included a tapered hood with an inset chest piece , elements faithfully reproduced in this model.
The cut is made primarily of rectangular pieces, with a drawstring at the neck for a comfortable fit. It covers the shoulders without being too heavy and is ideal for both Viking reenactments and Early Medieval attire. Although not waterproof, its canvas-like cotton fabric can be treated with waterproofing spray to increase its water resistance.
