This floor-length medieval dress made of sturdy cotton canvas has a loose fit and is held in place with a supplied fabric belt. Contrasting color details and hand-stitched witch stitch embroidery make this dress something special. The slit neckline can be worn open or closed with a brooch. The front and back are made of rectangular fabric panels, with so-called geren (wedges) inserted in the center and on the sides, giving the hem sufficient width. A gusset (rectangular piece of fabric) is inserted under the arm. The heavy canvas fabric makes the dress sturdy and heavy, making it suitable for spring and autumn.

The dress's cut is based on archaeological finds dating back to the 9th and 10th centuries. Typical of this period are long dresses with cuts composed primarily of rectangles and triangles to use as little fabric as possible.
Fragments of a haithabu were found in Skjoldehamn , Birka , and where the cut is clear. The dress is therefore an authentic garment for all Vikings.
