Viking dress Jona, green
This floor-length medieval dress made of sturdy cotton fabric ( canvas ) has a loose cut and is held in place with a supplied fabric belt. Contrasting colour details with the hand-made embroidery in witch's stitch make this dress something special. The slit neckline can be worn open or closed with a brooch. The front and back are made up of rectangular fabric panels, with so-called geren (wedges) inserted in the middle and on the sides, giving the hem sufficient width. A gusset (rectangular piece of fabric) is inserted under the arm. The solid canvas fabric makes the dress robust and heavy, making it suitable for spring and autumn.
The cut of the dress is based on archaeological finds dating back to the 9th and 10th centuries. Typical of this period are long dresses with cuts that are mainly composed of rectangles and triangles to use as little fabric as possible.
In Skjoldehamn , birka and haithabu fragments were found where the cut is clear. The dress is therefore an authentic garment for all Vikings.

- Total length size M: approx. 150 cm (measured from the highest point of the shoulder)
- Care instructions: machine wash at 40°c, gentle cycle, do not tumble dry
How to find the right size:
- To determine your dress size based on your body measurements, measure horizontally at the strongest point.
- For dresses, use your chest measurement as a guide.
- If you are between two sizes, we recommend that you choose the larger size.
- Comfort accessories are included in the cut.
