Simple medieval afra dress made of sturdy canvas, wine red

This loose-fitting medieval dress is made of sturdy canvas (100% cotton) and is very robust. All hems are hemmed with a plain weave. The additional skirt section has dividing seams, making the flared skirt drape particularly beautifully. Side darts in the chest area ensure an optimal fit. The floor-length dress can be worn as an overdress or underdress.

Due to the robust structure of the fabric, the medieval dress is particularly suitable for representing simple states. Like jeans, the material only acquires a unique, worn look over time. And thanks to the thickness of the fabric, the women's dress is ideal for the transitional period (spring/autumn). If you combine the dress with a Viking apron dress/rose skirt ( smokkr ) or a simple apron, you'll have a good foundation for the ensemble, which you can wear as you wish, depending on the era, and complement with suitable accessories.

This loose-fitting slip dress, also called a cotte , was worn throughout the Middle Ages by both sexes as an upper or lower garment. The cotte always reached the floor and had long sleeves. It was often combined with a surtout and a belt.
