This long medieval dress made of durable cotton fabric has a loose fit and can be individually adjusted thanks to the side laces. The sleeves and hem are in contrasting colours and thus create the impression of an underdress. The neckline and the hem of the sleeves are decorated with embroidery.

The look and cut of the women's dress is based on 12th century fashion. This type of dress, also called a bliaut (or bliaud ), appeared at this time. The tunic, whose length varied from calf-length to floor-length, was particularly characterised by its side laces, a flared skirt and trumpet sleeves. The bliaut was also often decorated.

Representations from the Bliaut period can be found, for example, in the Hortus Deliciarum , an encyclopedic work from the late 12th century, or in the 1150 illustrated manuscript of Terence's Comedies .
