When she walked through the village, people noticed her, even when they couldn't see her, as her scent was like honey mixed with lilacs. From the longhouse, she ruled like a queen over her subjects, making sure the day-to-day tasks were done and that the village was safe from raiders. She had proven herself a capable leader, and the third obeyed her orders. The villagers knew she was their queen as Frida sat on her throne, dressed in a simple chemise and dress like the other women of the village."

Frida's dress comes to us from the Norse and Vikings. It follows the hangerok style of the early medieval period in Northern Europe. It is made from cotton with a herringbone pattern, giving it a beautiful thickness and weight. A chemise or shirt should be worn underneath for an authentic and more comfortable experience. The shoulder straps have been made so they are easy to alter with a little sewing. The Frida dress is suitable for everyone, from commoners to nobility, as it can be accessorized with brooches and jewelry and will complement any outfit.
