The appearance and cut of this tunic are based on an archaeological find dating back to the 11th century. In 1984, during excavations in Vyborg, Denmark, a bundle of cloth wrapped in canvas was discovered. As it turned out, it consisted of individual fragments that could be joined together to form a tunic. Only the back and sleeves have not been fully preserved, leaving a little room for interpretation.
The tunic has a very elaborate cut that is unique for the time. The upper body is made in two layers front and back and has a rectangle from which the seams extend diagonally. The neckline is equipped with two slits and laces. The arm sleeve has a straight cut and is complemented by a gusset in the armpit area. The sleeve consists of a total of three pattern parts and tapers towards the hem. The side seams have slits and the back part extends a few centimeters above the front part and covers the top of the slit.
Our cotton tunic is a unique reconstruction of the medieval viking tunic. We put special emphasis on the correct cutting of the dividing seams, the processing of details and the correct proportions. We have slightly extended the overall length of the torso and sleeves for aesthetic reasons. Our viking tunic has long sleeves and the hem ends at thigh level. The elaborate tunic can be worn as an upper or lower tunic. The fabric (100% cotton) is of medium strength and is double-layered in the torso area.
The tunic is the perfect garment for all northern men. For an authentic costume, we recommend combining them with a belt, calves and rush pants.

- Care instructions: machine wash at 40°c, gentle cycle, do not tumble dry
How to find the right size:
- To determine your dress size based on your body measurements, measure horizontally at the strongest point.
- For blouses, use your chest circumference as a guide.
- If you are between two sizes, we recommend that you choose the larger size.
- Comfort accessories are included in the cut.
