The tunic was originally a Roman garment, but was soon adopted by Germanic tribes and worn by different peoples and classes in northern and central Europe until the Middle Ages.
Our replica is an early medieval version, as worn by the Vikings, but also by other Germanic and Slavic peoples. The tunic is kept simple, but if you wish, you can easily modify it for your own purposes with your own trim, fasteners, or extensions.
