Our cotton tunic is made of durable canvas and decorated with an embroidered border. The border features a knot pattern (also called a Celtic knot) and is inspired by the image of the Lärbro stone (Gotland). The tunic is loose-fitting and has a flared hem, making it best worn with a belt. The neckline is wide, and gussets (rectangular pieces of fabric) are inserted under the arms. The pockets are inset into the side seam. The elaborate design and contrasting color details make it clear that this is an outer garment.

The appearance and cut of this tunic correspond to the clothing of the High and Early Middle Ages in Northern Europe. Typical of the cut of this period are longer upper garments with a straight torso and flared skirt. (Rock). Gussets (rectangular pieces of fabric) were used under the arms to increase comfort. Archaeological finds with a similar cut have been made, for example, in Viborg and Haithabu.

The tunic is perfect for all northerners. For an authentic look, we recommend pairing it with Viking trousers, calf length pants, and a leather belt.
