In ancient times, a tunic was primarily understood as an undergarment worn directly against the skin. In the High Middle Ages, the tunic changed and was now worn as an outer garment. Although only a few fragments have survived, there are quite a few contemporary images, such as: b. the Bayeux Tapestry or miniatures showing medieval clothing and its scope.

Our early medieval tunics are largely based on these sources. They are loosely cut and in the Middle Ages were belted. The length of the sleeves is approximately three-quarters of the arm. These tunics are well suited for early medieval representations, such as: e.g. Vikings, Slavs or Celts.
