Medieval Folded Tunic with Detachable Sleeves, Blue/Dark Blue SIZE S

Give a Folded Medieval Tunic with Detachable Sleeves, Blue/Dark Blue

Medieval folded tunic with removable sleeves, blue/dark blue

Our knee-length cotton tunic is made of plain weave. The contrasting colour details are made of solid cotton fabric (canvas, also called canvas ). It is elaborately crafted and is therefore designed as an outer garment.

Nestle straps on the shoulders allow the tunic to be worn with or without sleeves. The ends of the ribbons are fitted with brass tips, which make threading the ribbons much easier. The round neckline has a slit in the centre front and is closed with ribbons with Nestle lace. The tunic is straight cut at the top and widens at the skirt with geren (triangles) inserted at the sides and in the middle. Thick decorative stitches give the tunic a handmade look. The included canvas belt with decorative stitching is extra long and can be tied twice around the waist.

This tunic is a loose interpretation of a medieval tunic. The cut is based on archaeological finds from Skjoldehamn (Norway) and Kragelund (Denmark) dating back to the early Middle Ages. Detachable sleeves were popular in the Middle Ages because they could be washed separately and allowed for greater variation in the tunic. However, they belong more to the late Middle Ages.

Please note: only the tunic is sold! Other items are available separately in our online store.
