Give Roman Torques with Lion Head, Tinned Brass, Pair
Roman Torques for Phalerae Breastplates, Tinned Brass, Set of 2
In addition to the disc-shaped plaques or medals known as phalerae , military awards in ancient Rome were also presented in the form of torcs. These large, open rings were always awarded in pairs. During parades, a highly decorated Roman legionary (called a phaleratus ) would display his phalerae on a leather cuirass that he wore over his armor. Typically, the torcs hung clearly visible at collarbone level from a red scarf, the so-called focale .
This replica of a Roman torc with lion's head ends is cast from brass and tinned. It is ideal for equipping your own chest harness and also as a spare part, for example for our article number 1016676500.
An ideal accessory for Roman reenactment.
These beautiful torcs are sold in pairs.
