Treat yourself to the Hudson's Bay Tomahawk
Hudson Bay Tomahawk
Forged Tomahawks
High-quality Cold Steel® tomahawks are precision forged from 1055 carbon steel. When producing impact tools, especially those with a cutting edge, drop forging offers many distinct advantages. Using multiple dies (hollow molds/dies) connected to massive forging hammers, the steel is formed step by step into a completely homogeneous mass and impact-pressed to achieve uniform grain flow and minimize defect formation. All Cold Steel® tomahawks are also differentially hardened: the cutting edge and striking surface of the hammer are fully hardened for razor sharpness, while the rest of the head remains softer to absorb shock and impact. The American Tomahawk Company® is a registered trademark and a business of Cold Steel®, Inc.
Hudson's Bay Hawk
Almost all tomahawks currently on the market trace their roots to the Hudson Bay axe, which was widely used for centuries in the vast forests and swamps of northeastern Canada. Known for its versatility and high performance, this axe quickly became indispensable to anyone trying to take a life from nature. The Cold Steel® team is also a big fan of this famous axe model and decided to create a scaled-down version. A tomahawk version. Like all the other tomahawks in the collection, this one is forged from 1055 carbon steel. It has a classically designed cutting edge, approximately 9 cm long, and a generously sized hammerhead for pounding, smashing, or hammering. And because the hammerhead, like the axe blade, is hardened differently, it's also suitable for driving nails and pins. The handle is made of sturdy, straight-grained hickory wood. This axe is always ready for life in the woods. and in an emergency situation, it can also act as a terrifyingly effective weapon.
Carbon steel 1055
The carbon content and relatively low levels of other materials in this steel make it a very stable material, free from the brittleness inherent in most high-carbon steels. This steel is ideal for blades that require high impact resistance and is therefore often used for large fixed knives, machetes, and swords.
