Before the invaders arrived, you and your tribe made tools from sharpened stone. Now that the foreign people have brought metal, you've improved your tools and weapons. The edge of your new tomahawk gleams in the light of your campfire.

At first, the newcomers were generous with their food exchanges, but you begin to suspect their intentions. You and your fellow warriors prepare your new weapons in case the need arises to defend your home.

DETAILS

The Epic Armoury Tomahawk is a 56cm one-handed axe inspired by the Native American weapon that resembles a hatchet. These weapons were used as a tool and a throwing axe (though we don't recommend throwing this one!), and also as a general close-quarters combat weapon. It has a 22cm long axe head with an 8cm tall blade, hand-painted to look like real metal, notched from wear. The head is actually made of soft foam, reinforced with a harder foam core. It attaches to the realistic 45cm handle, which is hand-painted and sculpted to look like real wood grain. The handle has also been sculpted to look like it has decorative notches with arrow marks.

Made from durable closed-cell foam around a solid fiberglass core and finished with a strong latex coating, your new LARP axe will give you the security and appeal you want when building your Defiant kit.

HISTORY

• The first handled axe was created around 6000 BC using birch tar and rawhide lashings to secure the blade to its handle.
• Many battle axes also served as tools and were cheaper to make than swords.
• The word tomahawk comes from the Powhatan word tamahaac , meaning "to cut with a tool."
• Originally it was made of stone, then metal was used, introduced by early Europeans.
