The original of this combat-ready replica of a visorless bascinet (also called a bascinet hood or helmet) dates back to the 14th century. The medieval helmet-like pelvic hood was developed from the brain hood in the early 14th century.



The helmet is handcrafted from two pieces of steel sheet and welded on both sides at the crest and, due to its robustness, guarantees great protection during exhibition combat.



The helmet has a comfortable padded fabric lining. The attached brass rivets, so-called vervelles, serve to attach a chain support for the chest and shoulders. We have these chain braids in our program in different braiding types, which you can find in the category 'chain gear'.
