Over the years, Cold Steel has developed a number of different short-bladed machete prototypes, but the tanto model remains one of the best the company has ever tested. Although Americanized tanto blades are primarily known for their combat applications, they are also excellent all-around bushcraft blades.

In Cold Steel's in-house testing, the tanto machete achieved excellent results in both cutting and stabbing without losing any of its durability under intensive use. The sturdy full-tang construction and durable, weather-resistant polypropylene handle ensure increased durability and functionality.
