Lynn C. Thompson has developed a very special fascination with the simple functionality displayed by forged knives. Their one-piece construction, made from a solid piece of steel, sets new standards in terms of stability and durability. The monolithic (= one-piece ) knives from Cold Steels® in the Monolithic Axe and Tool® series are not cheap castings, but are made from 52100 carbon steel by drop-forging. For each model in the series, the solid steel body is expertly heat-treated from the sharp blade tip to the end of the powerful handle. For a comfortable and secure grip, each knife is ergonomically shaped and features a deep recess in the handle section. Since these knives can be easily modified or customized, they are also perfect as "project knives." If desired, the handles can be retrofitted, filed, engraved, or otherwise modified to create an individual design.

Forged Survivor

The Survivalist is the largest model in the Cold Steel® Monolithic Axe and Tool® Collection. Its long, wide blade, inspired by the ever-popular Recon Scout , is designed for military use as well as hunting, survivalist, and bushcraft applications. The razor-sharp edge, steel hand guard, generous blade belly, strong blade back, and sturdy tip make this knife an excellent choice for almost any task. Forged from a solid piece of steel, the Survivalist is incredibly durable, making it perfect for tactical/military use as well as for prepping and survival scene needs. Carbon steel 52100

52100 carbon steel is a durable steel ideal for fixed hunting knives and other outdoor fixed blades. Knife makers often choose it to forge tough, low-wear blades that must withstand harsh conditions.
