Lady's Sirloin, Natural Color

Looking for a simple way to secure your medieval headdress? A fillet may be just what you need.

A fillet is a band of fabric worn around the head. It can be tied or pinned around the head to serve as a base for holding the headdress, or it can be worn over the headdress to hold it in place and as a decorative element.

This fillet is designed to be tied around the head and is a great base for a veil, cap, bonnet, or more elaborate headdress. It can be used for a wide variety of medieval figures.

The wrap measures 50 cm long by 10 cm wide. It has four loops (two at each end) that are about 42 cm long. This length is long enough to wrap around the head once, with a generous amount to tie in a bow at the back, or to wrap around the head twice, tying the loops in a knot at the front.

It is made of a natural-colored cotton and linen blend (87% cotton, 13% linen).

Headscarves were very popular in medieval times. In medieval Europe, women often covered their hair for religious reasons, for warmth, and to keep it clean. Natural or bleached linen was a common choice. It was gentle on the skin and hair and durable enough to hold headdresses. It was also easy to clean and could withstand the abrasive cleaning processes used to remove hair oils and other impurities that accumulated on objects worn next to the hair.

Whether you represent a noblewoman, a merchant or a peasant, this fillet is the perfect complement to your wardrobe.

The product includes a bridal veil. Veil pins, veils, bonnets, and other illustrated items are not included and are available separately.

Note: The fabric is natural, not white. The color is darker than it appears in the photos.

In the photos, the model is wearing this garment under her chin as a shell.

Designed in the USA. A Mythrojan product.
