Reconstruction of an ancient shield, called scutums , as carried by Roman legionaries of the Empire period.
< br>The shield is made of wood and has a hand-painted linen cover on the front. The back is reinforced with thin strips of wood. The shield is usually supported by an intervention in the hump or umbo .
The shield can be selected without a hump, with a brass hump or with a steel hump. For the versions with a hump, the scope of delivery includes 8 screws. This means that you can easily attach the hump yourself. The metal humps can also be purchased individually (as a spare or back-up) in our shop: art. no. 1116675201 and 1116675202.
