German Schaller 1490 – The Helm of the Last Knight
Forged for combat and honor
In the late 15th century, when armor reached its technical and aesthetic peak, the German Schaller emerged, a helmet created to respond to the intensity of the battlefield and the refinement of late cavalry. This replica, faithful to the original model from around 1490 , authentically revives the splendor of the last medieval knights, ready to rise again in tournaments and reenactments.
The Forge of the Last Age of Steel
Made from durable 1.6mm steel , this Schaller is designed for exhibition combat . Its movable visor is secured by a functional pin , while the hand-forged trefoil-shaped rivets evoke the masterful craftsmanship of Holy Roman Empire blacksmiths. The articulated neck plates offer dynamic protection without sacrificing mobility.
Inside, a padded leather inlay and a sturdy buckled chin strap ensure a comfortable and secure fit. Polished and oiled, this helmet is ready for both combat and the centerpiece of any display of late Gothic weaponry.
