Small Viking Sax (Seax) knife with bone/brass handle in Old Norse style
This small Viking Age utility knife (also called a broken-back sax due to its special blade shape) has a short, hand-forged carbon steel blade with a sturdy spine. The polished bone handle, decorated on both sides with beautiful Norse engravings, is a real eye-catcher. The blade ends in a brass ferrule, and at the other end, the handle cap, also made of brass, has a practical eyelet with a generous brass ring for attaching a carrying strap or for easily removing the knife from its sheath. (Strap not included).
The Viking Age short Sax (Seax) comes with a sturdy, artfully decorated sheath made of vegetable-tanned leather with hand-engraved Norse-style knot designs. Antique-finished brass fittings (rivets, a reinforcement plate, and two elegant snake-shaped hanging rings) beautifully complete the sheath.
Although the knife is fully functional, the edge has been dulled. If necessary, it would require sharpening for daily use. However, please note that this Viking knife is primarily intended as a collectible or decorative item. The tip of the blade is not rounded and is not suitable for show fighting!
