Get Sax (Seax) From Lumberjack

Lumberjack Sax (Seax)
Did you know that the name Saxons comes from the knife they carried? In fact, the Sax (Seax) knife played such an important role in the daily life of this tribe that the entire village was named after it.
So what was so special about this knife, which was widely used between the 6th and 12th centuries? The answer is simple: it was easy and cheap to make, as well as incredibly versatile and effective. As a rule, it had no forend, just a simple wooden or bone handle. The long, wide, and powerful blade had a straight edge and a convex spine sloping towards the point (easy to forge), making it ideal for chopping, slicing, and carving. Furthermore, the sax was also a reputable fighting knife, as thanks to its pronounced front weight and sloping blade point, it could deliver terrifying blows and stabs effortlessly.
Over the years, cold steels® fascination with the history and performance potential of the Sax (Seax) continued to grow, and it was now decided to create a simple version, called the Woodsman Sax (Seax) . Like some historical examples that have survived, the Woodsman has a robust 28 cm long blade with the characteristic sloping tip and a smooth wooden handle (of exotic origin).
Each Sax (Seax) is delivered with a sturdy, historically faithfully reproduced leather sheath, with belt loops and elegant solid brass buckles.
Carbon steel 1055
The carbon content and relatively low levels of other materials in this steel make it a very stable material, free from the brittleness inherent in most high-carbon steels. This steel is ideal for blades that require high impact resistance and is therefore often used for large fixed knives, machetes, and swords.
