The voice of the renowned Swedish-Finnish band Hedningarna on solo journeys, accompanied by her two trio partners, as well as the Finnish electronic and ambient genius Tapani Rinne. A fascinating blend of traditional folk and modern acoustic music.

In many ways, 'Huria' is a true continuation of the 2004 album 'Kainuu' (Rockadillo Records) released by the Sanna Kurki-Suonio duo with Riitta Huttunen. This is due, of course, to the renewed collaboration with the virtuoso string specialist Huttunen, but also to the musical material, which largely comes from the traditional repertoire of the past 100 years. The big difference is in the modern arrangements, which make 'Huria' an album of pure world music, a sound that constitutes the distinctive feature of contemporary acoustic folklore today. In addition to the traditional pieces, you can hear some impressive original compositions by the band members.

This new CD was produced with great taste and care by Tapani Rinne, the mastermind behind the renowned Finnish electro-jazz trio Rinneradio. He kept the sound minimalist and rooted in tradition. But at the same time, "Huria" sounds very modern: Tapani's experience as a producer of the groundbreaking albums by Kimmo Pohjonen and Wimme cannot be ignored.
