Polish sabre



A number of early 17th century Polish sabres were used as a model for this addition to Cold Steels® to provide high-performance swords. Used on the battlefield both on foot and on horseback, these sabres had a fearsome reputation. This was due not only to the skill of Polish nobles in handling their sabres, but also to the phenomenal cutting ability of these weapons.



Cold Steels® interpretation of this historically significant blade was developed by custom swordsmith Dave Baker. This saber is crafted from expertly hardened carbon steel. Its fully sharpened, distally tapered, and highly curved blade gives it incredible cutting ability, but is also rigid enough to deliver effective thrusting attacks.



For optimal hand protection, it is equipped with a handlebar and guard with brass inserts. It also has a practical thumb ring to facilitate the so-called moulinet , a technique that allows the user to keep the blade in continuous motion in order to be able to stop, cut and change direction at lightning speed.



With the striking wire-wrapped red leather handle, matching leather scabbard, and open inserts for custom engraving, this sword's looks are no less than its functionality. The Polish Sabre certainly has what it takes to become the centerpiece of any Hema martial artist's or sword lover's collection.



1055 carbon steel

The carbon content and relatively low levels of other materials in this steel make it a very stable material, free of the brittleness inherent in most high carbon steels. This steel is ideal for blades that need to have a high impact resistance and is therefore often used for large fixed knives, machetes and swords.
