Enjoy Napoleon Saber of 1813.
Napoleon's saber of 1813
Napoleon's cavalry was the bane of European battlefields. Their riders were equipped with first-class swords, manufactured in a state-of-the-art factory dedicated exclusively to producing the finest bladed weapons of the time. Their sabers had excellent slashing and cutting properties, but could also be used as stabbing weapons. In fact, they were so popular that they were still used long after Napoleon's fall, for example, by both sides in the American Civil War.
Cold Steels® The Napoleonic saber of 1813 is inspired by these extraordinary swords. Its elegantly curved blade, made of 1055 carbon steel, has a long, wide groove and ends in a sharp, pointed point. The handle is equally impeccably crafted. It is wrapped in black leather and excellently protected by a striking three-braced brass basket handle. The scope of delivery includes a durable, hand-polished steel sheath with two carrying rings for attaching it to a bandolier or sword belt.
Carbon steel 1055
The carbon content and relatively low levels of other materials in this steel make it a very stable material, free from the brittleness inherent in most high-carbon steels. This steel is ideal for blades that require high impact resistance and is therefore often used for large fixed knives, machetes, and swords.
