Hutton Sabre

The British fencing master and officer Alfred Hutton (1839-1910) was a representative of the French fencing school. He campaigned for the revival of historical fencing while at the same time modernizing the fencing techniques of his time.

One of Hutton's great acknowledged achievements is that he breathed new life into the sport of fencing after it had fallen into the category of anachronistic and esoteric pursuits.

The Hanwei Hutton Sabre is inspired by the original with a guard made from stainless steel and a handle with imitation sharkskin and wire wrapping. The Hutton Sabre’s blade and hilt mimic the style of a military sabre to create a more realistic training sword. The blade is slightly shorter, lighter, and has a rounded tip for effective training. Additionally, it is slightly more flexible than the military variant of the sword.
