Treat yourself to the Prussian Cavalry Saber M 1811, Blücher Saber
Prussian cavalry sabre m 1811, called blücher sabre
The Blücher sabre is based on an English light dragoon sabre from 1796. /p
This already had the new handle shape (stirrup, or stirrup-shaped handle), which is also typical of the lighter Prussian development. The M 1811 saber is also colloquially called the Blücher saber . Field Marshal Gebhard Leberecht von Blücher, whom his comrades called Marshal Vorwärts or Pascholl after the Battle of Leipzig in 1813, was probably the most popular general of the German Wars of Liberation against Napoleon. A monument was erected in his honor in Berlin in 1826. The statue of Blücher includes the handle of an M 1811 saber lowered to the ground. This saber was the typical combat weapon of the Prussian light cavalry in 1813/14.
Prussian hussars, dragoons, lancers, and artillerymen. Horse artillery was equipped with the Blücher saber.
