Get a 1796 Light Cavalry Sabre with a Steel Scabbard.
Light cavalry saber of 1796 with steel scabbard
Cold Steels® 1796 Light Cavalry Sabre is inspired by the iconic swords used by the British and their Prussian allies at the Battle of Waterloo. Some believe its distinctive blade shape likely derived from the Indian talwar , and it became so popular that it was used by German cavalry well into the early 20th century.
But this saber is more than just a historically inspired display piece. It's a modern, high-quality saber that's fully capable of passing the British Proof test for quality and durability.
The saber comes with a fully sharpened edge, and for the scabbard, you can choose between a traditional all-metal version or a wooden version with a leather sheath and steel fittings.
Carbon steel 1055
The carbon content and relatively low levels of other materials in this steel make it a very stable material, free from the brittleness inherent in most high-carbon steels. This steel is ideal for blades that require high impact resistance and is therefore often used for large fixed knives, machetes, and swords.
