Give away a Briquette Saber
Briquet sable, marto
The lightsaber is a close-quarters combat weapon of the Napoleonic Wars. It is a short, slightly curved sword with a gold handle, carried by most infantry units, including standard-bearers, musicians, and engineers. The briquet saber was introduced around 1780. However, soldiers found bayonets or the butts of their muskets more suitable for close combat, and in 1807 the order was given to abandon the briquette saber. However, some regiments continued to use it until 1815. The briquette, the easily handled short saber, like other weapons of the period, has its origins in the French Revolution, and later Napoleonic infantry, artillery, and grenadier troops were equipped with this weapon.
