Chinese saber

Chinese history is marked by social conflicts that led to wars, revolutions, and other events that led to the development of some unique weapons. The Chinese saber, for example, is exactly this type of weapon: a cavalry saber that was also used by infantry soldiers in the field.

The Cold Steel Chinese Saber is crafted from hand-forged carbon steel. The blade has a hollow blade that runs three-quarters of the way through and is moderately curved along its entire length, ending in an upward-curving point. The handle features a classically engraved brass guard. The handle has a braided wood core wrapped in black silk cord and topped with a brass pommel. The scabbard is made of wood covered in black leather and fitted with brass fittings.

Although undoubtedly a Chinese saber, this sword could easily be used by any steppe warrior reenactor and is particularly well-suited to reenactors of Mongolia, China, and Manchuria.
