Treat yourself to a Charlemagne Sabre

Charlemagne sabre

There are legends surrounding the origin and creation of this beautiful saber. For example, it was said to have been found around the year 1000 when Charlemagne's tomb was opened. Although it was later proven that it could never have been in the possession of the first Holy Roman Emperor, who died in 814, it went down in history as the Charlemagne saber. Along with the Imperial crown and the Imperial lance, it is one of the most important insignia of the Roman emperors, now preserved in the treasury of the Hofburg in Vienna.

The saber was probably created in the second half of the 10th century in Eastern Europe. It will never be fully explained how it got its name and how it became one of the imperial jewels. What is certain is that it must have been created for a wealthy nobleman. The extraordinary artistry and splendor of its decorations worthily represent Emperor Charlemagne, that dazzling, sophisticated, and outstanding figure in human history. The saber is preserved in its entirety. Among the many beautiful swords and sabers that have come down to us from the Middle Ages, this one stands out for its exceptionally magnificent and artistic decorations.

This detailed Hanwei replica is a perfect replica of the original. The high-quality carbon steel blade features a groove decorated with gold leaf and intricate engraving. The handle is wrapped with ray skin. The crossguard and fittings are gold-plated, as is the round pommel, giving the sword perfect elegance and balance. The leather-covered wooden scabbard is also gold-plated, forming an exceptionally attractive and elegant unit with the handle. The scabbard's carrying rings are suitable for straps with a maximum width of 23 mm.
