Replica of a French flintlock pistol (called a pistolet modèle an xiii ), as issued to the troops of Emperor Napoleon I. Originally designed for cavalry, these pistols were also common in the navy and were used extensively by the French Army during the Napoleonic Wars. They were in use until around 1840, at which point they were converted to percussion.



The stock of this muzzle-loading replica is made of synthetic resin (imitation wood). While the barrel, lock, ramrod and trigger have a blued finish, all other metal fittings have a brass look with an antique finish. The barrel is engraved with manufacture imperiale . This inscription is repeated in abbreviated form ( mre imp. ) on the lock plate and with st. etienne , one of the most important French arms factories of the time.



This special version is decorated with some of the most recognizable emblems of the famous French Emperor: an eagle on the stock and the letter N inlaid on the handle, surrounded by a laurel wreath and surmounted by the imperial crown.



Our firearm replicas are for recreation and decoration purposes only. The gun's mechanics are fully movable, but this reproduction is not functional. The ramrod is permanently installed.
