The Mirror World is your home, and your duty is to stand guard on behalf of the Primordial Skeptics, the very beings a great host of colonists seeks to destroy. DETAILS
This armor set includes Epic Armoury’s Ratio helmet, torso armor, gorget and shoulder armor, elbow and thigh guards, leg guards, a symbol, and a tunic, allowing you to fully outfit your costume needs at a lower cost. Each piece is crafted from galvanized mild steel with rolled edges and premium leather straps and fittings, and is treated with Epic Armoury’s Epic Dark Metal coating, which gives the armor a hard, antiqued finish. Built to withstand the abuse of a LARP or reenactment while keeping the wearer safe and comfortable, this armor will last a long time with regular leather and metal armor care.

Helmet
An Asian-inspired piece of armor designed to protect the head during combat. Both opponents and allies are sure to be amazed as you head into battle sporting this stunning helmet. Featuring incredible attention to detail and a brass and black color scheme, this helmet is both spectacular and functional, offering maximum protection by covering the head, neck, and face. The visor is also reversible to allow for desired comfort and vision while in the field.
Torso
Asian-inspired lamellar breastplate designed to protect the upper body. Offering excellent protection and great mobility, this armor also has a luxurious design, a scaly appearance, and a rustic, gleaming look. The front is made of overlapping steel panels stitched with premium leather laces, while the back is protected by thick leather. Secure this breastplate by tightening the heavy leather straps at the shoulders and further tightening them with two straps along the sides for a snug fit.
Gorget and Shoulders
Leather shoulders reinforced with brass-colored steel plates designed to provide protection for the throat, shoulders, and upper arms. This armor is made as a single piece, with the shoulders and gorget connected by leather lacing. The premium leather gorget covers from the thorax to the sternum and is designed to fit the wearer comfortably. The shoulders are composed of pauldrons that cover the shoulder joint and upper arms. The shoulder plates are secured with straps on the gorget and around the upper arms.
Elbows
A set of steel elbow guards, or couters , designed to protect the elbow joints. The guards are rounded with reinforcing ridges and decorative steel rivets. A half-bolster protects the upper arm, while a half-brace protects the upper forearm below the counters. Leather laces are used to attach the brace to the gambeson, while three premium leather straps are secured around the bicep, elbow, and forearm to hold the piece in place.
Thigh protector
Asian-inspired steel and leather armor designed to protect your upper thighs during combat. Made from premium leather and reinforced with leather cord stitching and shield-shaped steel, these guards offer protection without slowing you down with unnecessary weight. Secure these guards by attaching them to Epic Armoury's Ratio Torso armor.
Leg protection
Cuisses to protect the thighs, articulated poleyns covering the knees, and half-greaves protecting the upper shins and the sides of the calves. The knee guard is articulated, composed of five overlapping plates, and provided with a protruding fishtail plate to protect the hamstrings. The poleyn is attached to the leather thigh guard, which is held in place by a leather loop around the belt. Secure the leg guard firmly in place by tightening the leather straps around the thighs, knees, and calves.
Symbol
The Epic Armory Symbol of Ratio is a decorative crest that can be easily added to your armor to display your loyalty. Pledge your allegiance to the Ratio with this magnificent brass and black ornament. Four leather laces make it easy to attach to different parts of your body or armor.
Tunica
A long-sleeved, padded coat that covers the torso from neck to hips. It can be worn alone or serve as essential padding under chainmail or plate armor. The tunic is donned by slipping it down over the head and cinched around the waist with a cotton belt. Specifically designed to serve as padding for Epic Armoury's Ratio armor, this hardy tunic is constructed of heavy layers of spongy cotton canvas sandwiched between layers of heavy cotton canvas along the sides and over the neck and shoulders. The heavy cotton sleeves are fitted with brass grommets over a leather plate to allow Ratio's elbow and shoulder guards to be attached to the fabric.

Epic Armory Metal Works products should be treated with acid-free wax or quality vegetable oil and kept in a dry place. Metal armor containing leather components requires separate leather care. Read the "Leather Straps and Accessories" section below for information on cleaning and maintaining leather with leather care products.
Degrease and prepare your armor for use
When you open your armor, you may be overwhelmed by the smell of grease and oil. The oil has been applied to protect your armor during storage and transport. Use a degreasing product or mineral spirits and a dry cloth or paper towels to remove all the oil from the plate armor pieces. It's a little more difficult to remove all the oil from chain mail links, but it can be done the same way. Wipe off as much as you can with a dry cloth, and with the remaining oil, you can degrease the chain mail with mineral spirits or another solvent by spraying it on the links. You can also choose to completely submerge your chain mail in a degreasing product and use your hands to agitate the metal in the solution; this will completely remove all the oil and grease from your links. After removing the oil, be sure to dry the armor thoroughly. Bright, warm sunlight is excellent for drying your armor, but you can also use a hair dryer or heat gun to speed up the process. Be careful not to overheat any piece of leather when using a heat gun.
Cleaning
Moisture is the enemy of armor and chain mail. If your armor gets wet, it's important to dry it thoroughly as soon as possible. After handling, use, or after six months of storage or display, all metal should be wiped with a clean cloth. Lightly oil the cleaned surface with a quality, acid-free vegetable oil. Alternatively, you can apply a coat of wax to the entire surface of the exposed metal. Let the wax dry for a couple of hours, then lightly buff it with a soft cloth.
Prevention and elimination of rust
Store your armor in a dry place and check it every two months for signs of rust. If you find any, remove it by gently rubbing the affected area with a mildly abrasive pad moistened with wax or quality acid-free vegetable oil. Epic Dark products are specially treated to resist rust, but should still be treated with oil and stored in a dry place.
Leather belts and accessories
Clean them by removing dirt with a stiff brush, then gently scrub with leather soap and a clean, damp cloth until the leather appears clean. Remove the soap with a separate damp cloth to clean any soap residue, and then use a dry cloth to wipe away any remaining water from the leather.
You should always condition leather after cleaning it, as the soap will have removed some of its natural oils. Treat the leather with mink oil, olive oil, or beeswax using a clean cloth, gently rubbing a small amount of oil or wax into the leather in circles. Allow the leather to soak in the oil before wiping it with a final clean cloth to remove excess residue.
