Discover Raptor Katana, Shobu Zukuri
Raptor katana, shobu zukuri
The blade of the Raptor katana shobu-zukuri ( iris blade ) is characterized by its elegance and impressive cutting ability. This type of blade, which does not have a yokote (ridge line at the tip), became widespread during the Namboku-cho period (1336-1392) and continued to be popular in the Muromachi period.
Hanwei Raptor Series :
Under the leadership of sword master James Williams, the Raptor ( Bird of Prey ) was created - a collection designed specifically for those who do not necessarily have access to a training center, but want to be able to train and hone their technique in swordsmanship.
&Nbsp;
Each blade is forged from 5160 carbon steel and undergoes a special heat treatment which guarantees very high durability and ensures that it can withstand heavy blows much better than a traditional differentially hardened blade. In addition, the structure of the steel used eliminates the need for excessive thickness of the blades, making the blades equal to the Japanese originals in weight and handling. The cutting geometry is designed so that no burrs are formed when cutting both soft and semi-hard materials. This allows for a large selection of target materials.
&Nbsp;
Each katana in the series has its own unique blade design that has its origins in the history of Japanese sword forging. This means you can choose from the range based on both aesthetic criteria and handling.
