Give yourself Raptor Katana 2, Shinogi Zukuri
Raptor katana, shinogi zukuri
When it comes to Japanese katanas, the shinogi-zukuri blade shape has established itself as the most common, combining speed with sharpness, as the Raptor shinogi katana featured here. These shinogi-zukuri blades feature a pronounced ridge at the tip (yokote), and the earliest examples appeared toward the end of the Heian period (around 987 AD).
The Hanwei Raptor i series :
Under the leadership of sword master James Williams, the Raptor ( Bird of Prey ) collection was developed specifically for those who do not necessarily have access to a training center, but wish to be able to train and perfect their blade handling technique.
Each blade is forged from 5160 carbon steel and undergoes a special heat treatment that provides a very high level of durability. The strength is guaranteed and ensures that it can withstand strong blows much better than a conventional differentially hardened blade.
Furthermore, the structure of the steel used makes the blades excessively thick, making them equal to the Japanese originals in weight and handling. The cutting geometry is designed to prevent burr formation when cutting both soft and medium-hard materials. This allows for a wide selection of target materials.
Each katana in the series has its own unique blade design, rooted in the history of Japanese swordsmithing. This means you can choose from the range based on both aesthetic and handling criteria.
