Lost-wax cast bronze arrowhead from the Late Bronze Age, 5.5 cm
This cap
bronze
arrowhead
Measuring approximately 5.5 cm, it takes its shape from an authentic Late Bronze Age arrowhead.
Bronze Age
Found in central and southeastern Europe. With its two-lobed blade and conical socket, this type of arrow was preferred by warriors and hunters for its accuracy in flight and deep, stable penetration upon impact.
The arrowhead's shape wasn't ornamental, but rather designed for survival. Its deep midrib added structural strength, while the ferrule ensured a secure fit on the thin wooden shafts, minimizing the risk of dislodging in combat or while hunting.
Each piece comes to life through the
lost wax casting method
- an ancient metallurgical process also known as
lost wax
It involves sculpting the shape of the arrowhead in wax, wrapping it in clay, and heating it until the wax melts, leaving a cavity that is filled with molten bronze. Once cooled and removed from the mold, each arrowhead displays the subtle marks of hand finishing, making each piece unique.
Durable, compact, and faithful to archaeological finds, this arrowhead is ideal for period displays, experimental archaeology, or creating museum-quality replicas.
