Give Pugio Romano, Windlass
Roman Pugio, Windlass
The distinctive shape of the pugio blade was excellent for close combat and was used by all legions. Although civilians did not generally carry swords and knives within the borders of the Pax Romana, barbarians and bandits could certainly be encountered on its outskirts, and a trader's best bet was to be armed. Undoubtedly, many ancient legionaries found it easier to balance the familiar weight on their hip while farming in newly acquired territory. The wooden handle is fitted with a fully tempered blade of high-quality carbon steel. Based on remains in the British Museum.
Includes matching wooden case with leather sheath and brass appliqués.
Manufactured by windlass steelcrafts.
This pugio is designed as a collector's item or decorative object and is also perfect as an accessory, for example, to complete your costume.
