Give away Helmet Cheek Protectors, Pair
Cheek fins for helmets, pair
Cheek flaps have been attached to helmets since ancient times as a mobile facial protection. In the Roman Empire, helmets were equipped with cheek flaps as standard, but there are also many finds from the High and Early Middle Ages. For example, numerous nasal and spange helmets from the Migration and Viking Age are covered with cheek flaps.
This pair of separate cheek flaps from Ulfberth allows almost any helmet to be equipped with this facial protection. They are covered with cowhide on the back, which prevents contact with cold and possibly sharp steel. A wide and very thick leather strip is sewn onto the top, the other end of which can be fixed to the helmet with a little manual skill. In addition, chin straps and brass buckles are riveted to the bottom.
A pair is supplied, consisting of flaps for the left and right cheeks.
