Treat yourself to FWM Chain Arm Guard, 8mm Inner Diameter, Pair, Untreated
FWM chain guards, 8mm inner diameter, pair, untreated
-Suitable for exhibition fights-
These types of arm protectors (English voiders) were used in the late Middle Ages and were mainly sewn or attached to clothing (gambeson).
The price includes the chain guard for both arms.
The braid type FWM is a variant of the European flat ring braid. One row consists of flat rings riveted in a wedge shape, the second row consists of stamped rings of the same size. This method was laborious in the Middle Ages, but also in antiquity, as only every second ring had to be riveted. The braiding is 4 in 1. Riveting with wedge rivets (triangular rivets) did not appear until the late Middle Ages. The braid types FRW and FWM are therefore only suitable for depictions of the late Middle Ages.
