Several weapons for the Renaissance fencer come from hanwei, such as the rapier hilt and cup-hilt.

For the Schlaeger rapiers, Hanwei used the popular swept-hilt handles and designed them to hold Schlaeger blades with a length of approximately 94 cm (item number SH1099) and approximately 109 cm (item number SH1098). These tapered blades offer exceptional balance compared to traditional cylindrical Schlaeger blades. This makes the sword much faster. Hanwei Renaissance-style rapiers originate in early 17th-century Europe, where rapier fencing was an essential part of men's training and was often used to settle disputes between noblemen. Blades from forging centers in Toledo or Solingen were usually fitted with handles by regional blacksmiths, which gave rise to many different designs.

It was the so-called main gauche, as a fencing dagger or companion dagger for left-handed users. It was often used alongside the rapier. On the one hand, daggers allow for better defense against attacking swords, but at the same time, they also offer the possibility of a quick counterattack. The fencing schools that proliferated in Europe taught fencing with two corresponding weapons. The style and design of the left hand was often adapted from the rapier, adopting its characteristics to increase its effectiveness.
