Arm plate (jack chains), pair, 2 mm steel

Plate arm guards ( chains ) to be sewn, nested, riveted or tied onto gambeson sleeves, handmade
Made of 2 mm thick steel.

These arm plates were an important part of the armor of late medieval infantry soldiers, which were not usually replaced by full plate armor.
They were protected, but wore a padded doublet (called a gambeson, English arming-jack ) around the relatively unprotected areas of the arms.
To protect against sword blows, these jacket chains, i.e. arm plates, were attached to the sleeves of the quilted jacket.
