The chain piece is ideal for repairing, extending or making your own custom chain pieces. We also offer individual rings for this purpose.

The FWM braiding type is a variant of the European flat ring braiding. One row consists of flat rings riveted in a wedge shape, the second row consists of stamped rings of the same size. This method saved a lot of work in the Middle Ages, but also in ancient times, since only every second ring had to be riveted. The braiding is 4 in 1.

Riveting using wedge rivets (triangular rivets) only appeared in the late Middle Ages. The braid types frw and fwm are therefore only suitable for late medieval depictions.
