DETAILS

Epic Armoury's Gambeson Legs are a set of padded cotton greaves designed to add comfort and protection beneath your leg armor. Made of quilted cotton canvas lined with a soft polyester interior and a medium cotton outer layer, they can be worn alone or as padding under heavy steel or leather armor.

Gambeson legs are sewn to ensure the padding remains evenly spaced. Secure them to your legs by threading cotton cord through brass grommets up to the calf. Padded armor was common in many cultures and was used for a wide period of time. With their neutral style, Gambeson legs will work on a wide variety of figures.

HISTORY

• It is used as padding under chain mail or plate armor.
• Historically, a European gambeson from the early Middle Ages was recorded as being able to prevent sword blows from penetrating the skin.
